Dateline: Houston, TX, July 28, 2010 - Psychological Subtleties 1 (PS1) is out of print again...well, the U.K. edition is sold out. But we expect the U.S. edition to be available by late August. You will be able to purchase a copy through your favorite dealer or get your autographed copy here through our website.
You will notice the difference in the U.K. printing from the one in the U.S. because of the color of the cloth binding. Although both will hve the same dust jacket, the U.K. edition has gold foil stamping on a white, hard back cloth cover. The U.S. edition has been ordered to be printed with silver foil stamping on a blue, hard back cloth cover. The contents are the same, but the color of the binding is the only discernible difference.
PS1 is more than a reprint of the original book. It has been reformatted to look and feel like PS2 and PS3 complete with a dust jacket and more graphics. Also, this expanded third edition includes credits that were inadvertently omitted from the first and second editions. Furthermore, there is more information, more tools, more contributions, more effects and more thinking from Banachek. Whereas the original book was 115 pages, this expanded edition is double the size with 211 pages and in a larger sized book format to sit on your bookshelf alongside and to match PS2 and PS3.
Banachek is now being featured in a new column on Reel Magic digital magazine. The June 2010 issue features an interview with Mark Mason but also introduces the new digital column on "Banachek Subtleties" which many of you might find interesting. This is not a re-hash of topics already discussed on the Psi Series or elsewhere but a fresh new look at subtleties you can employ in your own performances on stage and in everyday usage. In late September 2009, Banachek and Scott Wells sat down for a video interview where they discuss some of the contents of Psychological Subtleties 3 plus they demonstrate a couple tricks from the book. We noticed that there are a few typos and errors in the first printing of Psychological Subtleties 3. We have prepared a PDF document that will correct those errors. We apologize for the inconvenience but these few errors will be corrected in the second printing of PS3.
